Functional Description:

Yacht tenders, or yacht’s tender, are used to transport passengers and cargo to and from yachts.  A yacht tender can be a rigid-hulled inflatable boat (RIB), inflatable boat (dinghy), or centre console or runabout boats manufactured from various building materials.  Fibreglass with a gel coat finish is the most common.  Other composite building materials for yacht tenders are kevlar, dynel, carbon fiber and epoxy.  Yacht tenders can also be manufactured from wood or aluminium (aluminum).

Yacht tenders are usually powered by outboard motors or inboard engines using gasoline (petrol) or diesel. The drives are either propeller or jet propulsion drive.  Hovercrafts can also be used as a yacht tender.
